A First Step Towards Healing

Please note: If you have had a recent concussion or whiplash, please take your time with this lesson! You don't need to do it all at once. We encourage you to break it up as necessary. Doing five to fifteen minutes of the lesson at a time is a great option. After doing a lesson, please treat yourself kindly and don't exert yourself. Rest, take a gentle walk if you like, etc. ---- Pay respectful, non-critical attention to how you feel- give the lesson a chance to become absorbed and integrated.

Have you ever experienced a concussion, a head injury, or whiplash? Injuries like these may not be visible on the outside, and we usually expect our symptoms -of pain, tension or dizziness- to go away by themselves. But, as David Zemach-Bersin, Feldenkrais Trainer and Founder of Feldenkrais Access, has found, some of the head injuries that we assume are minor are actually more serious and can linger and cause problems for us many years later. If you have vision problems, headaches, vertigo, or nagging patterns of chronic tension, it is possible that you had a head injury long ago that did not heal completely.

We are pleased to announce that David Zemach-Bersin will present a series of five Saturday Feldenkrais classes designed to help both groups of people: those who know that they have had a head injury and those who are not sure but think they may have, in the past. The Feldenkrais lessons in this series will help you to improve your neuromuscular and skeletal organization, balance your nervous system, improve your balance and vestibular responses, restore the cervical curve of your neck, restore healthy spinal movement, and reduce tension throughout your body.

"Many head and neck injuries are invisible and never treated. I find that many people are walking around with balance problems and chronic aches and pains that originated long ago, with forgotten head injuries.” ~DZB

This series will:

  • Restore healthy flexibility of your head and neck
  • Reduce the lingering effects of past injuries
  • Reduce head and neck pain
  • Support light and easy posture
  • Reduce tension in your eyes and jaw
  • Improve your breathing
  • Enhance your vestibular function
  • Improve the relationship between your head and spine

"Last week, I had a car accident that caused whiplash injuries. That night I started doing David’s Head and Neck Injury Recovery course (for Feldenkrais Practitioners) and the next day, I had no pain!"
